Persnickety is an Allergy Friendly Bakery based in Colorado Springs, specializing in gluten, dairy, soy, egg FREE sweets! We are an insured home based cottage food business.

Another way to define persnickety is nitpicking or overparticular. This word has been used many times in the kitchen when teaching others how to decorate cakes, or what ingredients can or cannot be used. When baking with allergies you have to persnickety. You have to know how important food allergies are to those who cannot eat certain ingredients.

Persnickety is an allergy friendly bakery that uses recipes to offer sweet options for those on a gluten free, dairy free, egg free and soy free diet. We take great pride in creating something that is as good, if not better than the “original” thing.

About Andrea

Andrea, Persnickety Bakes Owner and Head BakerAndrea is the dreamer behind Persnickety. She has an AS in Baking and Pastry and BS in Food Service Management from Johnson & Wales University. With only 2 classes shy of graduating she was diagnosed with celiac disease. Over the years, she has been unable to eat dairy, soy, or gluten. Her experience and training was developed from working in bake shops, hotels, retail bakeries and a lucrative catering company in NYC. She decided that it wasn’t right for those who have allergies to be unable to enjoy something as well (and not just sorbet). She has spent years developing recipes that not only taste good, but are transparent and all natural. When Andrea is not baking she enjoys cycling, playing basketball, reading, and raising her two girls.
